About the Sexual Awareness Center:
Do you want to get involved on campus or in the Bellingham community? Do you wonder what "involved" really means? How do you define community? Are you passionate about local or global social issues? Do you want to organize a campaign, movie showing, workshop, lecture, discussion series, dance party, or conference? Are you looking to tap into the money and resources floating around campus? Would you like to sharpen your mind and activism skills and put them to work? Come see us! Let's talk!

Some Past Events:
  • Viva La Campesina: Working with local organization Community to Community Development, we hosted a panel of local women speaking on their lives and communities as farm workers in Whatcom County.
  • Beyond Bars: A day-long conference on issues surrounding the Prison-Industrial Complex. Topics included the War on Drugs, Women in Prison, Political Prisoners, Books to Prisoners and much more!
  • Undoing Institutional Racism Trainings: Conducted by the People's Institute for Survival and Beyond, these trainings examine the role and realities of race and racism.

Throughout this year you can expect a number of workshops, speakers, movie showings, projects and more that will challenge and inspire you to do what it takes to make a real difference. Be sure to check out our Social Issues Events Calendar to see what’s happening this quarter!
